the homy feeling, and great staff.
informative info from staff-good breakfast-location excellent
I was nice that had breakfast every morning. Also had fruit and water and coffee and tea every day and evening. Wine in the afternoon was nice also with cheese and peanuts.
The music selection. I felt like I was in Church
The suite and regular amenities were very nice, the staff were helpful for any questions and directions, recommendations, etc..
The hotel seemed to be unable to handle any special requests. For example: we requested a vase for roses we purchased for our room and none was provided nor was a call made to explain why, they sat in a drinking water glass. Someone wanted to order champagne sent to our room while we there (it was our 20th anniversary) and the hotel told them it couldn't be done.
I liked the fact the hotel maintained it's original Pacific Heights mansion features. The location is very quiet and beautiful. Close to Presidio Park and Golden Gate. If you want to be near Union Square this is not the place. Service and rooms were great and the morning buffet breakfast is a bonus.
In order to get to Union Square it requires a taxi ride. But if you like being out of the core of the downtown, this location is good. Parking in front of the hotel is very limited for loading/unloading of luggage upon arrival/departure.
Staff was personable and helpful, old world charm, lovely breakfast and wine hour!
Extremely comfortable and relaxing with very helpful staff. This was especially the case thanks to Raisa who offered her personal supply of gluten free cereal to my husband who has coeliac disease.
Omitted to have available gluten free bread as requested, and noted, at the time of booking. It would be easy to keep a small supply of gluten free bread in the freezer for such an occasion.
Location in Pacific Heights removes you from most of the urban confusion. Lovely homes in the surrounding neighborhood and free street-side parking avoiding valet charges. The breakfast buffets were better than expected, serving smoked salmon and Brie on weekends. Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating our specific needs.
Front desk staff was less friendly than maids, food staff, bellmen etc. It is a small intimate lobby and front desk staff were kind of cold and rigid, not greeting guests returning from the days activities. Our group all noted and commented upon this.
1. Wine reception every evening. 2. Continental breakfast is excellent. 3 Staff goes above and beyond to accomadete request.
No complaints about this Hotel. We stay here evertime we visit San Francisco. Always satisfied.
Very friendly and accommodating. Physically very comfortable. Great breakfast though not for those who expect cooked meal. Very nice free evening receptions. Great area. Relatively quiet which I liked - might be boring for young party people but great for working or older visitors.
Great location. Very helpful and informative staff, particularly Marti & Bob. The room was of a very high standard. Great location for our needs to have some evening quiet, away from the bustle of the city.
Clean & friendly. Older style, very elegant, albeit a little "creaky" on the floors. Exceptional breakfasts. Wine & cheese/crackers every evening was lovely. Warm. Spacious (suite).
Only small negative was the lack of guest parking. Parking on the street was a gamble and very inconvienient.
The staff was excellent - attentive, and helpful. Our room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. I appreciated the "pillow menu", so I could order a pair of very soft pillows. A wonderful European style breakfast, with many choices and all of them delicious. Wine and cheese in the afternoon in the relaxed dining room setting. We always got a taxi quickly, but we also took public transportation, which was only a couple of blocks away. There were so many little things -- the 24/7 coffee, tea, and cookies in the sitting room, WSJ, NYT newspapers, flower arrangements, wide selection for TV and radio music, a fruit plate in our room, all added to our comfort.
Parking was a bit challenging. We did always find a spot on the street within one block, however.
Absolutley everything the breakfast is always the best The bedroom extremely comfortable So many extra little touches. So unique I wish they had one Everywhere
Quietness, ambiance, decor, friendly staff; loved wine and cheese; continental breakfast excellent with good variety.
